Kieli ja kielenkäytön tavat eli diskurssit vaikuttavat asenteisiin, toimintatapoihin ja todellisuuskäsityksiin yhteiskunnallisellakin tasolla. Koska joukkotiedotusvälineet, kuten sanomalehdet, radio ja televisio, levittävät diskursseja laajalle yleisölle, on tärkeää tutkia, millaisia asenteita, arvoja ja ideologioita median käyttämään kieleen sisältyy. Este artículo es una breve meditación sobre el nacimiento y el posterior desarrollo de una de las más importantes formas de comunicación visual de finales del siglo XX, el vídeo musical pop, y su consiguiente explotación por Madonna. La cantante estadounidense ha reciclado las iconografías clásicas del siglo XX para ofrecer en sus vídeos e imágenes promocionales un envoltorio artístico a su carrera musical dirigida a la sociedad de consumo y de los grandes medios de comunicación. Este artículo analiza la trayectoria pictórica de Carmen Santonja (Madrid, 1934- 2000). Aunque ha sido más conocida como cantante, ya que formó parte del célebre grupo Vainica Doble, C. Santonja también se dedicó con intensidad a otras disciplinas artísticas cine, televisión , destacando especialmente su vocación pictórica. Sus obras, como su música, reflejarán el gusto por la naturaleza dentro de una estética pop, mostrando gran interés por la experimentación, que le llevará a la creación de nuevas técnicas, como el decollage.
